Je mag van de Engelsen vinden wat je wil, gevoel voor humor hébben ze. Televisiepresentator, autofreak en eurofoob Jeremy Clarkson (die ooit stelde dat er maar twee meningen bestaan: de zijne, en de verkeerde) kon me alleszins een bulderlach ontlokken: "It's often said that the Germans don't have a sense of humour, but look at it this way. They may laugh at desperately unfunny stuff such as The Benny Hill Show and Are You Being Served?, but who made it in the first place?" Nog over Duitsers: "I don't know very much about football but I do know that the result in 1966 was a freak occurrence. Normally their players make ours look disabled. And it's the same story in tennis, motor races, gliding, skiing and invading Poland." Ik vind zoiets hilarisch....
