Bonzo op herhaling
Goed nieuws. Als ik het interview in het blad Revolver met Neil Innes mag geloven werkt The Bonzo Dog (Doo-Dah) Band momenteel aan een nieuw album. Zonder Vivian Stanshall uiteraard, die maar 51 mocht worden en in 1995 stierf. Een van de elpees die ik indertijd helemaal uit mijn hoofd kende was Tadpoles, met klassiekers als Hunting Tigers Out In India, By A Waterfall en Canyons Of Your Mind. Kostelijk is ook nog steeds de Monty Python-achtige inleiding op het nummer Shirt. In een tijd dat je naar Paramaribo moest als je een Surinamer wilde zien was Londen al een voorafspiegeling van de mulitculturele samenleving die nog vorm moest krijgen:
